Avril Lavigne brilha no iHeart Music Awards e entrega prêmio a Green Day

Green Day receberam o prêmio Landmark de 2024, em cerimônia que foi realizada na noite no Dolby Theater de Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos.

On Monday (01/04), at the iHeart Music Awards, the spotlight turned to our legendary Avril Lavigne, who shone as always on the yellow carpet, delivering charm and charisma. Green Day received the 2024 Landmark Award at a ceremony held in the evening at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, United States.

Avril Lavigne esteve presente no evento para entregar ao grupo o prêmio da poderosa rede americana de rádio digital. Ela fez uma apresentação emocionante ao dizer que quando o álbum “Dookie” saiu em 1994, o Green Day abalou o mundo.

“Foi um álbum essencial dos anos noventa e uma obra-prima do punk-rock. E quando sua ópera rock ‘American Idiot’ saiu dez anos depois, em 2004, estreou no número 1, produziu cinco singles de sucesso e até gerou um musical da Broadway”, disse a cantora.

Ela completou: “E esta noite, a iHeartRadio está homenageando o Green Day com o The Landmark Award, para celebrar o 20º aniversário de ‘American Idiot’ e o 30º aniversário de ‘Dookie’ – juntos, esses dois álbuns épicos venderam quase 40 milhões de álbuns. Em maio, o Green Day fará uma turnê mundial para seu novo álbum ‘Saviors’, e tocará ‘Dookie’ e ‘American Idiot’ na íntegra. Esta é uma grande banda, uma das minhas favoritas de todos os tempos”.

[🇺🇸] Avril Lavigne was present at the event to present the group with the award from the powerful American digital radio network. She gave an emotional speech, saying that when the album "Dookie" was released in 1994, Green Day shook the world.

"It was an essential album of the nineties and a punk-rock masterpiece. And when their rock opera 'American Idiot' came out ten years later, in 2004, it debuted at number 1, produced five successful singles, and even spawned a Broadway musical," said the singer.

She continued, "And tonight, iHeartRadio is honoring Green Day with The Landmark Award, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 'American Idiot' and the 30th anniversary of 'Dookie' – together, these two epic albums have sold almost 40 million copies. In May, Green Day will embark on a worldwide tour for their new album 'Saviors,' and will play 'Dookie' and 'American Idiot' in full. This is a great band, one of my all-time favorites."
